Feed The Loop
A downloadable game for Windows
Created for the GMTK Game Jam 2025. Expect bugs.
You manage a factory made up of buildings you place on loops to process resources to score points. Strategic placement of certain buildings allows resources to travel down the loop to be processed multiple times.
Try to score the most points by exploiting synergies between buildings. But be careful not to have your factory get backed up.

Full Tutorial
When starting a new loop, you will encounter a resource creator. During the play phase, indicated by the “BEGIN” text at the start, resource creators dispense resources to the next space on the loop. They also destroy any incoming resources and add their value to your score. However, if at any point during the play phase the resource creator is forced to wait one or more seconds to dispense a resource due to another resource already occupying the intended space, you will lose the game.
If you successfully survive the play phase, you will have the opportunity to choose a new building from a selection of four options to add to the loop. You can place the chosen building in any space on the loop or replace an existing building in a non-empty space. If there are no empty spaces available during the building selection, the loop will expand, providing more space, decreasing the time it takes for resources to spawn, and increasing the duration of the play phase.
The resource creator may appear in the list of choices during building selection. You can replace the existing resource creator, but keep in mind that you will not be able to redeem the value stored in resources until you select another one. You can have multiple resource creators. Once you place the selected building, you transition back to the play phase, restarting the process until the game ends.
Different buildings have unique functions. Some buildings may become broken; when this happens, they will no longer operate until they are repaired by holding down the left mouse button. Furthermore, when not broken, some buildings can be interacted with by clicking on them with the left mouse button to toggle specific functionalities.
Resource Creator can appear in the list of choices during building selection, and, yes, you can replace the Resource Creator; however, you will have no way of cashing in the value stored in resources until you find one in the building selection. You can have multiple Resource Creators. Once the selected building is placed, you transition back to the play phase, restarting the process until the game is over. Different buildings do different things. Some buildings can become broken. When broken, the building will no longer work until fixed by holding down the left click. When not broken, some buildings can be interacted with by pressing left click on them to toggle specific functionality.
